1. Abstract
ThoughtPredict is a prediction market platform where people trade on the outcome of real-world events — politics, sports, crypto, culture, and the economy. We're launching in phases, starting entirely with play-money markets, with real-money trading and a utility token as later, conditional milestones rather than day-one promises.
2. The problem
Prediction markets have proven, at scale, that aggregating many independent forecasts into a single tradable price produces a better real-time estimate of the future than polls, pundits, or any single expert. But the two platforms that dominate this space today each carry friction for a mainstream user: one requires a US bank account and Social Security number and is unavailable to most of the world; the other retains the interface complexity of a decentralized exchange — order books, wallets, liquidity depth — that's unfamiliar to anyone who isn't already comfortable with crypto trading. There's room for a platform that teaches the mechanics first, with no money and no wallet required, before asking anyone to trade anything real.
3. The solution
ThoughtPredict opens as a play-money prediction market. Every user starts with Insight Coins and predicts on real-world outcomes with the same mechanics real prediction markets use — a price between 1¢ and 99¢ that reflects the crowd's live estimate of an outcome's probability. This lets us build a genuine trading community, test market design, and establish credibility before any regulatory or financial complexity enters the picture. Real-money markets and a token are structured as later phases, explicitly conditional on clearing the appropriate legal and regulatory groundwork.
4. Market opportunity
Prediction markets have moved from a niche curiosity to a genuine financial category. Combined monthly trading volume across the two largest platforms reached roughly $45 billion as of mid-2026, and the category is on a trajectory toward $240 billion in cumulative volume by the end of the year. Sports and politics together account for the large majority of that volume. This isn't a speculative niche anymore — it's an emerging asset class with real institutional backing, and there's meaningful room for a platform that brings a mainstream, non-crypto-native audience into it from the ground floor.
5. How it works
- Insight Coins: the play-money unit used across every market on ThoughtPredict at launch. Earned via signup bonus, tiered early-access rewards, referrals, and prediction performance.
- Markets: questions about real-world events, each resolved against a clear, publicly verifiable outcome at a set date.
- Pricing: every market has a YES and NO price between 1¢ and 99¢, set by user trading activity, functioning as a live probability estimate.
- Predictor Rankings: a leaderboard rewarding accuracy over time, not just volume — designed so thoughtful, consistent predictors rise, not just active traders.
6. The token (future, conditional)
A utility and governance token, working ticker $PRED, is planned as a later-phase milestone — not a Phase 1 feature. If and when it launches, it's intended to support governance participation, fee discounts, and staking, with distribution weighted toward early and active Insight Coin holders. No token has launched. No timeline is committed. Nothing about the token should be read as a promise of financial return — its existence and design are contingent on regulatory review.
